Great
event! Big thanks to all the marshals, organising team and the catering
team. Enjoyed the course (really!). Roll
on the raspberry conserve & I’ll enter in 2007.
Suggestions. I luckily arrived early (after
getting lost in Adlintgton..)
but I noticed a bottle-neck later at Registration. More loos would be
helpful & bigger ‘sight’ buoys for the swim. Could you save some
bacon butties for the finish?
Thanks
again

Excellent
event please pass on my thanks ….
I
completed the Tri with the rest of our small group from Pilkington “Sub Aqua”
(It’s a long story) …
Following
your event in 2005 we persuaded another two to join us ….
This
is a truly well organised event with great support from the
volunteers/marshals.
I am
sure when the words gets out we will need to book early next year if you remain
at 150.
The
only word of constructive feedback is due to the time limit getting through Horwich ( I assume) you need the early start but with
registration only opening at 6:30 that meant a lot of people were rushing to
make the start leading to a confused race brief …. Maybe next year you can
speed up the registration ….
Three
lines 1-50 … 51- 100 … 101 – 150. The bottle neck appeared to be the one guy
you had signing people in ….
Great
day … See you in 07.
p.s Please don’t scrimp on the T-Shirts like other events that have
developed a following. Excellent quality.
Also
free massage a real boost !!

Just a quick e mail to say thank you
to the organisers and the marshalls who all made the
event another success. I thoroughly enjoyed the course again, having done it in 2005. Weahter could have been better but you can't ask for
everything. The course is still the best in the north of
Thanks to everyone once again and hope to compete again next

Like last year, a great event! I would agree with
other suggestions for a couple of portaloos.
If it also were possible to allocate numbered spaces in the transition
area it would help, but I realise that space is very limited.
Similarly, if race numbers were put in the goody bags it might speed things up
at registration but no complaints about the event, which was excellent.
The free drinks etc were a really nice touch! The pre-race
information by e-mail was much appreciated and thanks to all the marshals,
volunteers and organisers.

I really enjoyed myself yesterday, it was a
thoroughly enjoyable day, really well organised and very friendly. Although I found the course challenging, it
was very rewarding. I liked the bike as
it was interesting, scenic and hilly and the run was very pretty, again
challenging, but a great alternative to a flat, lap course. The only thing I would say is that the swim
could have done with a slightly bigger buoy to navigate to the end.
Kind regards
Suzy Blackledge
PS I loved the toast with chocolate spread, it
was just what I needed after the race!

I would just like to say how much I enjoyed the race on
Sunday and looking forward to next years.
The event always seems to have a great family atmosphere
about it and my wife and children enjoyed the day as much as I did.

This is quick message to say a huge thank you for yesterday. Rivington Tri was my first attempt at an Olympic distance triathlon and whilst I came away
knowing that I needed to improve my performance, I had no such sentiments in
respect of the organisation of the event. Not only was I impressed with the
actual course, I was hugely encouraged by the relentless friendliness and
overwhelming helpfulness of the marshals, to the extent that a gruelling
Sunday morning slog became a pleasurable experience. Once again, thank you and I look forward to a repeat performance next year.

Great race & course, would
recommend to anyone.
Really
picturesque, especially the swim & run.
Good interface with spectators.
Great breakfast bar at the end.
One of the most enjoyable races in
the 6 years I have been doing triathlon.
Only criticism was that the lack of buoys on the return swim leg.
Nothing to aim
for.
many thanks

Once again a fantastic event, the
atmosphere of this event makes it one to keep coming back to,
i really enjoy the cameraderie
everyone pushing everyone and many thanks to the
The food is a fantastic idea and i have to be honest i couldn't
resist a bacon butty at 7am.
This years massage worked well too, i thought that the queues would be a mile long but my gang
all managed to get a rub down.
Thank you very much for another fantastic
day, try and do better with the weather next year !!.

To all of the organisers of the Rivington Tri 2006,
I would like to thank all of
the organisers and marshals for what I thought was an
outstanding event. Extremely well organised. All of
the organisers in transition were very helpful and the marshals out on the
course were very organised and had a good sense of
humour.
There was even jam on toast for
afterwards which was a bonus. Looking forward to next year!
Can't really think
of any negatives exept for some more covering on the
floor in transition as it was quite muddy in places. Maybe some portaloos as well, in addition to the two upstairs!?
Well done to all concerned.
Thanks,
Mark Evans

Can I say a big thank you to the organisers,
marshals and support teams for yesterdays Tri, everybody was helpful
and encouraging.
It was very tough, not just because
of the hills, but also the side wind around
To make it even harder I had a
puncture as I got back to
Well done, it is great to support a
local race, keep up the good work.

Thought it appropriate to pass on my congratulations and thanks for hosting a superb event yesterday.
The event was one of the best I have entered. Your organisation, brilliant goody bag, volunteers at the start point (tea & toast) and course marshals all played a part in making the event memorable.
Please pass on my sincere thanks to all involved. Regards John Boyer (Pilkington Sub Aqua) ps for next year can you ask UU to put the heating on in the reservoir
a bit earlier!!

I took part in the Rivington
Triathlon yesterday and just wanted to thank you and your colleagues for the
excellent organisation and smooth running of the event. It was my first olympic distance event which I
managed to finish in a fairly respectable time and I am already looking forward
to next year.
Thanks again
