About 12 of our brave soldiers did the club ride this morning, it was dry but very windy (even for a big un like me.....) over to Rochdale and back as per training webpage. Super ride managed by a wide range of abilities from a rather good 13yr old to a plump 37 year old right through to our hill climbing expert Jim. speed record for Ian = 52.4 mile per hour into Rochdale it was great.....
Interesting enough was that the riders today were different to last month so if we could get both sets out then we would have quite an impressive group ride!
Club kit looked well as well.

Bolton Triathlon Club has been nominated for an Award by Bolton Council for its recent work to get accreditation. Both senior and junior clubs are now accredited to British Triathlons guidelines thanks to work of our volunteers.

I'm please to inform you that I just received an e-mail from HQ advising
me that you have achieved Starmark status. CONGRATULATIONS. I think we can all agree that this has been a tremendous effort by everyone to obtain both marks in around 6 months. At our next committee meeting I will obtain a cheque from our treasurer for £500 and get it to you ASAP.

One of our Junior members, Melissa Bury became British Schools National Cyclocross Champion this weekend!
As you may know Melissa has been concentrating her efforts very much on cycling over the last year. She has been lucky to receive support from the British Cycling Talent Team and has recently become a partner in Sport with sponsor Thule.
Melissa is busy now doing base training for the new cycling season where she plans to compete in the British National Cycling Track series and also the British National Circuit Race Series.
As part of her base training Melissa will ride the monthly club rides. A big thank you to the coaches at Bolton for setting Melissa off on the road to sport.
